Staff Spotlight: Shandy

Meet Shandy, an Assistant Program Director for Community Youth Coaching and In-Home Family Services.  

Shandy’s journey at CEDARS began in February 2022 when she joined our team as a Family Partner in Omaha. In her current role, she serves youth in District 1 and rural District 5, helping them develop skills in education, problem solving, coping, and independent living. These Districts encompass 21 counties and include the towns of Columbus, Beatrice, York, and Crete, among others. 

“I enjoy working with the youth in my districts! I love watching them reach their goals and then helping them set and work on reaching new goals,” Shandy shared. 

Shandy lives in Columbus with her family, which includes her boyfriend and her four-year-old daughter. She recently received a bachelor’s degree in professional psychology, and spends her free time reading, drawing, and camping. A fun fact about Shandy is that she attended high school at Boys Town!
